CHAFFEY TAKES BOB GARRETSON SR. MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT

Chaffey advanced through the round-robin tournament without a loss to capture the 1st annual Bob Garretson Sr. Memorial Tournament with a 5-1 win over RIP's Baseball Team.
Dylan LaVelle was named the Most Valuable Player, with Obi Taylor receiving the award for the top pitcher of the tournament - JoJo Howie, Max Engelbrekt and Chris Guinn were also named to the all-tournament team.
The game stayed knotted till the bottom of the 5th when Dylan LaVelle lead off with a base-on-balls, Robbie Ingram sac-bunted Dylan down to 2nd and advanced to third on a wild-pitch, with the infield pulled in Cody Reed lined off a diving 2nd basemen to score Dylan from third and give Chaffey the 1-0 lead. Dylan finished the game going 1-for-1 with a double and 2-RBI's, Cody finished the game going 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Chaffey put the game away in the bottom of the 6th scoring 4-runs, Mitchell Gunsolus and Seth Heck hit back to back singles to lead the inning off, Michael Conforto sac-bunted Mitchell and Seth down to 2nd and 3rd, Chris Guinn then walked to load the bases - Kasey Bielec with the bases loaded suicide squeezed scoring Mitchell from 3rd. With the bases still loaded Dylan LaVelle doubled into right scoring both Seth and Chris, JoJo Howie came in with two to pinch hit and singled into left to score Kasey and give Chaffey a 5-0 lead. JoJo went 1-for-1 with one RBI with Kasey going 1-for-2 with 1-RBI and scoring 1-run.
Dylan LaVelle threw the first 5-2/3 innings only allowing 4-hits, leaving the game with two outs in the fifth with runners on 1st and 3rd - JoJo Howie came in inheriting a 3-0 count on the batter, threw back to back strikes before walking the batter to load the bases, JoJo then struck out the next batter to end the rally in the top of the fifth. JoJo ended the game allowing one run to score.

CHAFFEY ADVANCES INTO CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

Chaffey moved into the Championship game tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 pm against the winner of the RIP's Baseball and Pepsi Pak at Parker Field.
In a 45 minute rain delayed game Chaffey came out on top with a 1-0 win over the Seattle Braves, with the only run being scored in the bottom of the fifth inning. Kasey Bielec doubled into left center and was wild-pitched into third, Robbie Ingram hit a fielders choice - with Kasey being tagged out ona rundown, Robbie advanced to second on the rundown. Cody Reed came to the plate and doubled into right center to score the winning run and winning RBI. Chaffey finished the game with 3-hits all being doubles by Cody, Kasey and Dylan LaVelle.
Obi Taylor threw six inning only allowing 4-hits, while battingly through the rain delay. Conner Campbell threw the 7th inning for the save - not allowing a hit.

CONFORTO AND HECK LEAD CHAFFEY OVER PEPSI PAK

Michael Conforto and Seth Heck both going 2-for-3 lead Chaffey over the Yakima Pepsi Pak at Parker Field this morning in an 8-0 win.
Defensively Max Engelbrekt shut down the Yakima bats not allowing a run to score and only facing 23 batters and giving up two singles - over seven innings.
Mitchell Gunsolus lead off the bottom of the 1st singling into right, Seth Heck sac-bunted Mitchell down to second - Michael Conforto then hit a ball up the middle that the 2nd basemen miss played allowing Seth to score.
In the bottom of the 2nd Robbie Ingram drew a base-on-balls then stole second, Anthony Blackie singled into left scoring Robbie and giving Chaffey a 2-0 lead.
Michael Conforto singled into right to lead off the bottom of the 3rd, Chris Guinn was hit-by-a-pitch, Kasey Bielec drag bunted and a throwing error by the third baemen allowed Micheal to score, the pitcher followed with a wild-pitch allowing chris to score and moved Kasey into third, Dylan LaVelle then was hit-by-a-pitch, with runners on first and third the pitcher balked to score Kasey and give Chaffey a 5-0 lead.
Chaffey added two more runs in the bottom of the 4th when Seth singled into right, Michael Conforto then doubled off the wall in right center scoring Seth, Chris Guinn then singled into right center scoring Michael from second, with a 7-0 lead.
JoJo Howie came in to pinch hit in the bottom of the fifth and singled into right, Robbie Ingram doubled down the line in right - with the ball going out of play and holding JoJo up at 3rd, Anthony Blackie then hit a fielders choice scoring JoJo from third for Chaffey's final run of the game.
On Staurday Chaffey will play the Seattle Braves at 1:00 pm followed by a game with the Yakima Beetles at 4:00 pm, with the Championship Round being played on Sunday.
