CONFORTO - HECK LEAD CHAFFEY IN OPENING WIN

Michael went 3-for-3 with a pair of triples and 3- RBI's and Seth went 3-for-4 scoring a pair of runs to lead Chaffey over Lux Baseball 10-2 in the opening game of the Baden NW Invitational Tournament.

In the top of the 1st, Seth lead the game off with a single into center, Chris Guinn sac-bunted Seth into 2nd, Michael singled into right scoring Seth for Chaffey's first run of the game.

Anthony Blackie reached for on an infield single to lead off the 3rd, Seth and Chris both drag bunted for singles to load the bases, Michael then tripled down the 3rd base line scoring Anthony, Seth and Chris, Dylan Davis singled into center scoring Michael giving Chaffey a 5-1 lead.

Chaffey put the game away in the top of the 5th socring 5-more runs, Michael lead off the inning with a triple into right, Dylan Davis then reached first on a infield error scoring Michael, Dylan then stole 2nd , back to back walks to Dylan LaVelle and Zach Abbruzza loaded the bases, Chance Laboda singled into right scoring both Dylan Davis and Dylan LaVelle, Seth singled into left center scoring bothZachand Chance to give chaffey a 10-2 lead.

Max Englebrekt threw the first 4-innings of the game allowing 2-runs to score and striking out 6-batters, Conner Campbell then came in and threw the 5th inning and retiring all 3-batters he faced only throwing 6-pitches.

Chaffey will be playing Nor Cal tonight at the UW with the game time starting at 5:00 pm for there second game in the Baden Tournament.

LAFAYETTE DROPS CHAFFEY 5-4 TO CLOSE OUT WEEKEND

In a weekend of great baseball with the Lafayette Zoots Chaffey dropped the final game 5-4 at the University of Washington this afternoon. All of the games were played with wood bat and brought with it good competition between the two teams.

In the final game Lafayette scored all five runs in the first inning with 2-base on balls and 4-hits. In the bottom of the bottom of the first Seth Heck lead off with a single into right, Chrsi Guinn followed with a sac-bunt to move Seth into 2nd, Michael Conforto then followed with a double into right and scored Seth, Dylan Davis then singled into left moving Michael to 3rd, Dylan LaVelle then hit a sac-fly into center to score Michael from third and cut the lead to 5-2.

In the third inning Chaffey put one more run on the board with Seth reach first on a throwing error, Chris sac-bunted Seth down to 2nd again, Micheal hit a single up the middle moving Seth over to third, Seth ended up scoring on a pitchers balk.

The score remained 5-3 till the bottom of the seventh when Cody Reed singled up the middle, Seth doubled into left moving Cody over to third, Chris Guinn then hit a fielders choice scoring Cody, with the game ending with the tieing run in scoring position.

Seth went 3-for-4 for the game with a double and scoring 2-runs. Michael went 2-for-3 with a double, 1-RBI and 1-run scored.

Evan Hudson threw the first 2-innings allowing 5-runs on 5-hits to score, Zach Abbruzza threw the next 4-innings no allowing a run to score and giving up 3-hits, Conner Campbell threw the final inning allowing 1-hit and also not allowing a run to score.

Chaffey's next game will be in Baden Tournament starting on Wednesday night with Chaffey facing Lux homes at Bannerwood Park with a game start time of 5:00 pm.

COMEBACK FALLS SHORT IN 6TH AGAINST THE ZOOTS

The Lafayette Zoots took the Saturday morning game at the UW 4-3.

In the fourth inning Lafayette scored all four of it's runs on 2-hits and 4-base on balls, in the bottom of the inning Chris Guinn hit a solo homerun off the mesh of the foul pole in left field.

In the bottom of the 6th Chaffey put two more runs of the board with Seth Heck drag bunted for a single, Mitchell Gunsolus followed with a single into left, Chris came back up agian and doubled off the wall in right scoring both Seth and Mitchell. Chaffey left the tieing run on 3rd with one out unable to push him across the plate. Chris ended the game accounting for all of Chaffey's 3-runs and going 3-for-3 with a single, triple and homerun.

Dyaln Davis threw the first 4.2 innings only allowing 3-hits, JoJo Howie came in and threw the last 2.1 innings not allow a hit.

Chaffey will play the final game with the Zoots tomorrow at 11:30 am at the UW.
